Sissy Marie Sissy Marie, or "Sassy" as she is most often referred, is a girl from up northern way, just a wee bit south of the Mason Dixon line. Born under a bad sign, Sassy chose early in life to pursue the path of poverty and thus began her long musical journey at age 11 playing the violoncello because, well, everybody loves the cello. Fast forward many years. Now a few more. Now go back one year. It is then, during the dying notes of Brahms' "Sonata in E Minor" that Sassy decided to lay bow to rest in velvet case and softly, quietly, hurl her cello off the top of the Rocky Mountains to a violent, splintering finish at the bottom of the Colorado River. In that moment, as Arthur pulls the sword from the stone, Sassy picks up the bass guitar and later, some Chinese noodles, and decides it is time to get dirty. The Tarmints adopt Sassy into their family in July 2001 and now, even though it is a well known fact that girls can't play bass, Sassy, in the face of the odds and the gods, manages to pump high energy into the low end of the Tarmints' raucous music.
